Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Goes to Super Bowl XLV MVP
The Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers on February 6 will receive a 2011 Camaro Convertible, Chevrolet announced.
A media panel and fan vote on www.superbowl.com will determine the MVP Award winner, announced during the Super Bowl XLV Postgame Show on Fox, presented by Chevrolet.
“The new Camaro Convertible arrives in dealerships in February and will be a fitting reward for the MVP,” said Rick Scheidt, US vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “It’s a great opportunity for Chevy to have Camaro play a role on one of the world’s biggest stages, the Super Bowl.”
The Camaro Convertible will appear on the field during the postgame celebration in North Texas. Kia Motors arrived at Daytona International Speedway last year with no previous racing experience in America, but the company’s first-ever U.S. motorsports program quickly caught the attention of GRAND-AM competitors and fans as the No. 10 and No. 12 Infinity Audio Kia Forte Koups racked up an impressive list of accomplishments in its “development year” in the 2010 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series’ Street Tuner (ST) class, including two top five and six top ten finishes, leading two races, and ranking fifth in the engine manufacturer standings. One year later, Kia and racing partner Kinetic Motorsports will return to Daytona for the GRAND-AM 200 on January 28 with increased expectations after an off-season spent refining the Forte Koups based on the lessons learned in 2010.
After finishing 19th (No. 12) and 31st (No. 10) in Kia’s Daytona debut, Kinetic Motorsports quickly embarked on a header development program for the Forte Koups with several additional changes implemented as the season progressed, including a new final drive gear, a lighter weight flywheel and clutch assembly and new exhaust system. ESPN’s College GameDay Driven by State Farm Comes to the University of Kansas on January 29
ESPN’s College GameDay Driven by State Farm will be televised live Saturday morning, January 29th from the University of Kansas. Through a State Farm initiative, fans will have an opportunity to raise money for KU’s Student Union Activities’ organization Hawk Zone during the morning telecast (10 a.m. ET on ESPNU continuing on ESPN at 11 a.m.).
For every person who attends the morning show on Saturday, State Farm, which is sponsoring GameDay for the fifth consecutive year, will donate $1 to Hawk Zone, with a potential contribution of more than $16,000. This student organization helps increase student involvement in campus athletics.
Hosting the morning telecast will be the College GameDay crew of Rece Davis, Jay Bilas, Hubert Davis and Digger Phelps, who will preview the University of Kansas-Kansas State matchup and detail the day’s other college basketball action.
Gates open at Allen Fieldhouse at 7 a.m. Fans should show their school spirit by wearing team colors. The morning show is free to the public and tickets are not required. Students are encouraged to bring homemade signage.
One lucky morning audience member will get the exciting opportunity to attempt a half-court shot. If the shot is made, State Farm will give the person $18,000 and if they miss the shot, they will get $1,000!
